The thoughts are dependent on the attitude: do we want to think positively or negatively. Do we think the future of our affiliate business or the errors, which we have done.
These are the choices, which lead us to the sweet affiliate business victories or to the motivational losses. This kind of business is the business of all-time-believers!
1.Think, What You Can Make That The Visitor Spend More Time On Your Site, Do Not Think The Number Of Hits.
There is a huge difference between these two targets. The former guides you to pre-sell the idea of the landing page and to persuade the site visitor to surf the site for more interesting ideas.
The latter guides you to get huge amount of hits regardless of the way, how you do that. It guides you to get even non-related traffic, which of course leads to a bad results.
2.Think The Whole Campaign, Not Separate Ads.
The affiliate business campaign includes several mediums and it is planned to reach certain, specific targets. For instance a well-planned campaign reaches the average people 5 – 7 times and follows a clear decision making process.
For instance it can contact the same person by optin email message, home page, forum posts, personal email, search engine optimized pages and by blog. Each medium has it`s own job in the communication mix.
A separate affiliate business ad, for instance a banner, is like a lonely wolf in the desert. It has not the power of the crowd.
And the campaign is the part of multi-year promotions, which add power cumulatively, i.e. they build new things on the top of the old ones.
All in all, the secret is not in the ads or in the campaigns, the secret is in the planning, especially in the strategic planning.
3.Think, Whether Your Message Offers Something Meaningful, Do Not Think Hype.
The main message of your affiliate business must come from your business title: why are you in the market? What unique do you offer? What is unique in the way, you act?
The main message is called the consumer promise, like Nokia`s ” Connecting People ”. When we are in the business to business market, it doesn`t change the situation. We have to be able to promise in one sentence, what a site visitor benefits from our site, how we respond his wants?
4.Think Uniqueness.
As said in the previous chapter, the uniqueness is a must, otherwise your affiliate business site is just a copycat.
The best way to reach the uniqueness is to think by your own brains, not to follow others directly. Of course it is wise to collect ideas from different sources.
The affiliate business uniqueness includes at least two issues: what to offer and how to offer.
It doesn`t matter how you do it, but put your personality into fire! That is the best way to build your brand.
5.Think The Positioning Of Your Affiliate Business.
An average human being remembers three brands from each product category: three car brands, three PC brands, three mobile phone brands etc. And if we ask people his opinion about whatever topic, he has it.
Now these brands in the people`s minds form a short list along which they make their decisions. And gues what, if we want to be successful, we better be on that list.
The key tool to enter the list is to offer useful, meaningful things repeatedly, approximately 5 – 7 times.
The reaquires that you set a target for your affiliate business positioning, i.e. what you want that people think about your business. You have to make them to remember your promise, your strength.
6.Think Emotions, Not Facts.
The emotions run every human being. It is so odd, that this is not publicly admitted, but people try to convince us by rational things. But they do not work anymore, because all products are so equal, that the images matter.
7.Think Your Affiliate Business Identity, Not Logos Or Slogans.
The identity is like personality but in the affiliate business the target persons must recognise the personality, it cannot be hidden.
And you have to choose one strength from your personality, which will be the main message, the first point of the arrow.
8.Think Entertainment, Not Business Jargon.
When you choose emotional, entertaining and encouraging promotional strategy, you are automatically unique and your chances to drill into the deepest emotions of your target person are excellent.
9.Think Communication, Not Copystrategy.
The ultimate target of all affiliate business communication is to reach the level of personal relationships. It doesn`t matter, whether we speak about prospects or customers.
If we can mail to our good friends, the communication becomes meaningful and supporting.
When affiliate business websites fail, they fail because they do not communicate a meaningful believable, convincing and clear marketing promise.
