How The Search Engines Rank Your Internet Business Web Pages?

The skills and capacity of the search engines are incredible. If you type the keyword of this article, internet business, into Google, it will give you 230 million hits in 0,13 seconds. The matches will even be ranked: the most relevant page on the top.
The question is: are you interested to know how the search engine do the ranking?
Sometimes it happens that the order of the results is not correct 100 % but generally the result list is okay.
If you go to your local library and ask books about internet business, the service people there will make you some additional questions to get the right idea, what you really want.
The search engines have not this chance, but they must determine everything from the information, they have in use, on-page and off-page.
So how on earth the search engine can determine the relevancy, when there are millions of pages available?
The answer is very simple: they have the rules in their memories, called algorithm, which the search engine company people have set there and no-one really knows how they work, because the search engines are changing them all the time to be able to mix the learning process of those who want to learn and utilize them.
However we know that all the big search engines follow certain basic and common rules.
1.The First Rule: The Method Of The Location And Frequency.
This is one of the main rules in the ranking algorithm, called the Location - Frequency Method.
The location means the location of the keywords in the source code. If the keyword is located in the title tag and in the first paragraph of the copy, it will be seen as a more relevant than the others.
They think simply: the most important keywords get the best places.
Then search engines watch the frequency of the search keywords, because they also determine the relevancy out of that. So they calculate what is the share of keywords out of all words on the page, this is called the keyword density.
The higher the density compared the other words, the more important the search term is. However, the density is recommended to be around 4 %, but still the webmaster should reach bigger keyword density than the competing sites.
We know that all major search engines follow this Location - Frequency Method, but they add some customized incredients into it, which no internet business entrepreneur knows exactly. That is the reason, why the same example search, internet business, gives so different results in different search engines.
One reason for this is that some search engines do not index all pages but some do. Some index pages more often than the other ones, which leads to the situation that all search engines have a different collection of pages in use, which gives different search results.
Then there is the rejection issue: search engines reject pages because of keyword spamming, too many keywords, which leads to the situation, when pages will be excluded from the index.
2. The Second Rule: Off-Page Algorithm Factors.
The most important off-page factor is the quality and the number of backlinks, i.e. the links pointing from other web sites into your site.
This figure is the sign of the web site`s popularity and usefulness for other webmasters online. The backlinks are like votes from other sites and because search engines serve their searchers, they try to think what they want.
It is clear that they give better ranking to the sites, which are more popular, but if they found out that the links are made by some artificial trick, they will penalize this site.
By the clickthrough counting the search engines measure which of the search results` links get most of the clicks. This means that also the result page copy has meaning, because if the searcher will not click the top page, something is wrong and the lower ranked site will get a boost.
